CARE - Accompanying the Careleavers in a Path of Autonomy, Resilience, and Empowerment - is an Erasmus+ project that started in October 2019 and is scheduled to be finalized in June 2022. Born from the need identified by experts with years of experience in the field, the project aims to realize a specific training aimed at humanities students, which can bring an added value to working with minors in view of their exit from the reception paths.

Based on the experience gathered in previous projects, for example CHILD.FOR.CHILD, it became necessary to work on the implementation of a guiding figure and support for the autonomy of young people who, after having lived part of their adolescence in reception facilities or foster families, find themselves having to face entry into adult life "alone," most of the time without the tools necessary to cope with these new changes.

It is therefore important to train professionals to guide young people on a path of autonomy, resilience, and empowerment, which starts from their entry into the reception structures or foster family, and continues even after their exit, as points of reference for those who don't have a family that can support them or that isn't adequate for that. The project brings together partners (associations and universities) from Italy, Romania, and Spain.
